This blog is about a father, a son and an classic car. Well, it involves members of the immediate and extended family, and a rusty Ford Consul 315 that is in dire need of some serious TLC.

The dream starts with the father, Benny - who used to own a Consul 315 in his 20's and early 30's. He had bought the car from his dad but at some point he preferred his newer acquisitions and left the car to rot. Actually more than rot, it was the son, Anson - and his friends who played "The A-Team" in and on this Consul that brought an end to this sturdy vehicle.
Neither father nor son could appreciate at that time that they were throwing away a very rare estate version of the Ford Consul. Ford had licensed Haynes to produce this version of the popular Consul 315 and they had only put on the market 17 pieces of this car. Making it an extreemly hard to find. And we sent it to the junk yard!
Many years later, the father's wish to own once more a version of his beloved first car came close to becoming real when the son found an online advert for a 1952 Ford Consul 315 (not the estate version). A light green version, hidden in a makeshift garage some kilometres away.
Most enthusiast can most probably idnetify themselves with the next process that took very little time from seeing the vehicle to actually making it your own. In no time, Benny was again the proud owner of a Ford Consul 315 and Anson was preparing to start learning all there is to know about auto mechanics.
And the adventure begins here... with us sharing the phases of restoring an icon of British automobile history.
